Crackin' up!

The life of Bess.
Bess had her 4 month check-up with the Doc today. She is doing very well and is up to a whopping 10 lbs, 5 oz!! Almost three times her birth weight. She got 4 more shots today and seemed to handle them better than the first round of shots 2 months ago. No breath holding this time :) We got the go ahead to start feeding her some rice cereal once in a while and plan on trying that in the next couple days. Oh boy, new frontiers!
Here is another video. Bess is really getting into her links these days, figuring out how those hands and fingers work. Of course, sneezing and yawning are old favorites.
Its really amazing how many old sayings and truisms are actually proven, well... true when you become a parent. One of them is that old saying "They change so quickly". It seems like every day, Bess learns a new trick with her hand or displays a new personality trait. Sure its all pretty small stuff in the big scheme of things (it's not like she is learning to read overnight) but it is amazing to see unfold day in and day out. Two weeks ago she might have grabbed this rattle, but now she actually sees that she has grabbed it and experiments a bit with shaking.... hmmm sounds nice.... do we have a percussionist in the house?
Here is another great picture of Bess. She is wearing her hand embroidered by Mommy "little stinker" onsie.
Well, it is Bess's first 4th of July. She keeps asking me to buy her some bottlerockets, but we really think she is a bit young yet. Maybe next year ;)
Bess is also cooing quite a bit now. For at least an hour or two each day she gets in a talkative mood and has spirited conversations with Molly and I. Her favorite word is still "Nngheee", which she has had a knack for since about 2 weeks old. It won't be long before we have her reciting passages from "Ulysses", I just know it ;)
Here is a short video of Bess showing off her skills.
