Crackin' up!

As I said in the previous post, Bess has been laughing quite a bit lately and it is terminally cute. We finally have video to prove it Bess was just waking up from a short nap today and I was talking to her when I made a bit of a sudden move. It startled her which, in turn, apparently cracked her up. I whipped out the camera and started rolling while continuing to crack her up with weird faces and waving hands. Check it out...!

Bess 'n Jack

Here is a great video of Bess "petting" Jack. He has been so gentle and tolerant with her ever since the day we brought her home. Bess is very into putting things into her mouth these days as is evidenced by her interest in the camera cord near the end of the video.

This picture was taken at our good friends Dan and Karins wedding last weekend. Uncle Evan is obviously quite amused at his new role as Bess's binky. The wedding was beautiful and Bess was generally a little angel most of the time. She had quite a big weekend with somewhere to go on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday! It is tiring being the life of the party ;)

Bess has been laughing quite a bit lately. Little, uber-cute belly laughs. We think we caught some on video tonight. Hopefully I can post that soon, but this will have to do for now.

Bess breaks double digits in weight!

Bess had her 4 month check-up with the Doc today. She is doing very well and is up to a whopping 10 lbs, 5 oz!! Almost three times her birth weight. She got 4 more shots today and seemed to handle them better than the first round of shots 2 months ago. No breath holding this time :) We got the go ahead to start feeding her some rice cereal once in a while and plan on trying that in the next couple days. Oh boy, new frontiers!

Here is another video. Bess is really getting into her links these days, figuring out how those hands and fingers work. Of course, sneezing and yawning are old favorites.

Ch ch ch ch Changes....

Its really amazing how many old sayings and truisms are actually proven, well... true when you become a parent. One of them is that old saying "They change so quickly". It seems like every day, Bess learns a new trick with her hand or displays a new personality trait. Sure its all pretty small stuff in the big scheme of things (it's not like she is learning to read overnight) but it is amazing to see unfold day in and day out. Two weeks ago she might have grabbed this rattle, but now she actually sees that she has grabbed it and experiments a bit with shaking.... hmmm sounds nice.... do we have a percussionist in the house?

Here is another great picture of Bess. She is wearing her hand embroidered by Mommy "little stinker" onsie.

Naptime is the cutest...

Well, it is Bess's first 4th of July. She keeps asking me to buy her some bottlerockets, but we really think she is a bit young yet. Maybe next year ;)

Bess continues to get cuter by the day (hard to believe it's possible). She is definitely at her cutest when she is taking naps. Here is a pic from last night. It was a bit warm and so Molly had her up on our bed taking a nap.

A friend of mine at work told me that the very best feeling in the world is to have your baby daughter take a nap on your chest. He was right...

Bess is also cooing quite a bit now. For at least an hour or two each day she gets in a talkative mood and has spirited conversations with Molly and I. Her favorite word is still "Nngheee", which she has had a knack for since about 2 weeks old. It won't be long before we have her reciting passages from "Ulysses", I just know it ;)

Here is a short video of Bess showing off her skills.
