Bess gets a cousin!

Bess' favorite birthday present came one day late. A cousin! Eli Craig McCracken was born on March 10th at 7:17am. He was 7lbs 11oz. He is happy, healthy and beautiful.

 

Bess turns 1 year old!

Can it really be?! Has one whole year passed since little Bess joined us? We celebrated Bess' first birthday yesterday, Thursday the 9th of March. The momentous day started with a 1 year checkup at the doctors office. She weighed in at 16 lbs, which is still fairly small for her age, but is otherwise in perfect health. She has been sleeping through the night more and more and continues to be an incredibly agreeable child.

After the doc, we headed down to the Seattle Aquarium for the afternoon. Bess enjoyed the Ocean Center in Maui quite a bit and, as it turns out, she loves the local fishies too. Lunch at the Pike Place Market finished out the afternoon, then it was home to open cards and presents.
